| Domain Names: Transfer Terms and Conditions |
 |
Essentially, domain names are freely transferable between owners as well
as to any registrar, however there are some rules to observe which serve
both to protect your interests and ours.
It may be helpful to review our Procedures to assist you in effecting
transfers.
|
Inward Transfers
|
The following should be observed when transferring your domain name from
another registrar to us.
- The registration must not have expired and should be valid for at
least another two weeks at the time the transfer application is made
to us.
- Irrespective of how long the registration is still valid at the time
it is transferred to us, the registration must be extended with us for
at least an additional one year.
We will honor any time left (up to 9 years max) on a registration when it
is transferred to us.
|
Outward Transfers
|
The following will apply when transferring your domain name from us to
another registrar.
- The registration must not have expired and should still be valid at
the time the transfer request is received by us from the new
registrar.
- If the registration has already expired by the time we receive an
outward transfer request, the registration must be extended with us
for at least an additional one year before the transfer can be
processed.
The new registrar will usually honor any time left on a registration (up
to 9 years max) when it is transferred to them. |
